Peter Wright’s distinctive mohican and facial ‘war paint’ have made him the most recognisable darts star in the world, and he owes the transformation to his wife and daughter.
On Monday evening, Peter Wright will compete in his third PDC World Darts Championship final at Ally Pally, wearing his trademark mohawk and ‘war paint’.
Snakebite put on a memorable performance in their semi-final on Sunday, defeating fellow Scot Gary Anderson, and will now face Michael Smith after Bully Boy destroyed James Wade.
Wright is confident after winning the World Matchplay and Players Championship Finals in 2021, after becoming World Champion for the first time in 2020.
The 51-year-old began his career with the BDO in 1995, and he was unrecognizable without his now-familiar look, which his loved ones had crafted for him.
Jo, Peter’s manager and wife, is a hairdresser by trade and was instrumental in shaping Snakebite’s flamboyant look during his professional darts career.
She runs a salon in Lowestoft, Suffolk, called Medusa Hair, where she once spent nearly five hours perfecting a look for her other half.
“It takes about two hours every day in my chilling out time after practice,” he said in 2013.
