Good Time Motorvators holds annual Lake Lenape car show

PERKASIE — Car enthusiasts were well in attendance at the 31st annual Lake Lenape car show in Perkasie Sunday afternoon, May 28.

Hosted by the Good Time Motorvators, a local car club, the show featured dozens of makes and models, including a 1932 Ford 5-Window, 1965 Chevrolet Corvette, 1999 Plymouth Prowler and 2010 Dodge Challenger. The majority of cars on display were vintage Chevrolets and Fords.

The top 25 award winners received dash placards, while the top four award winners received trophies. Ticket holders were also eligible to win door prizes, including car maintenance and cleaning supplies.

The Pennridge Marching Rams served hamburgers, hot dogs and pulled pork and hosted a Plinko game to raise funds for the Pennridge High School Band.

In response to the Court’s decision, the ruling KDP issued a statement calling on all Kurdish parties to “cooperate to hold transparent and fair elections.” In other developments, on May 30, the UN Security Council unanimously adopted resolution 2682, extending UNAMI’s mandate for one year. Police investigate in the 200 block of West Church Street in Nanticoke on Saturday. The Luzerne County Coroner’s Office ruled Sunday that the death of a woman at 203 West Church St. was a homicide.

The Luzerne County Coroner’s Office has determined that the death of a woman found in a West Church Street residence in Nanticoke on Saturday was a homicide.

Lastarr Williams, 27, died from multiple traumatic injuries due to physical assault, according to a release from Luzerne County Coroner Jill Matthews issued on Sunday afternoon.

Investigators from Nanticoke, Newport Township and the Pennsylvania State Police responded to the area of 203 W. Church St. on Saturday after it was reported that a deceased female was at the location.

Williams was pronounced dead at the scene on Saturday. An autopsy was performed by Dr. Gary Ross, who came to the conclusion that Williams’ death was to be ruled a homicide.

There was no word Sunday as to whether or not anyone had been taken into custody regarding this incident. The coroner’s report notes that any further information will be released from the Nanticoke City Police Department, the Pennsylvania State Police or the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office.

Next week, on 10 and 11 June, will be the 91st edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, celebrating the centenary of the French endurance classic. In the run-up to the race, we take a look at aspects of its rich history. Today: Dutch successes.

Even before the war, the Dutch were Le Mans debutants: Eddy Hertzberger drove there twice, in 1935 and 1937, but it was not until 1971 that a Dutchman stood on the top step of the podium for the first time. That year Gijs van Lennep hired Dr. Helmut Marko in the Porsche 917 of the Martini Racing Team, led by Hans-Dieter Dechante.

Van Lennep’s victory was a resounding motorsport success: the distance record he set together with Marko stood until 2010. With his performance, van Lennep says he silenced even the critics in the Netherlands: “At least they can’t complain about the victory at Le Mans in Holland”, as he is quoted in ‘Auto Review’ magazine. it was done.

OCCA To Hold Meet, Greet Event

SPRINGFIELD—The Otsego County Conservation Association will host its “Mohican Meet and Mingle” on Friday, June 9 from 6-9 p.m., adjacent to the historic Ellen Biddle Shipman Garden at Mohican Farm in Springfield. OCCA Executive Director Amy Wyant, board members, and staff will be on hand to talk informally about the organization’s projects and initiatives in areas such as clean energy, environmental education, planning, conservation and more.

“We believe that coming together for a meal, meaningful conversation, and camaraderie will be a fantastic way to keep our amazing supporters informed and involved in all we do. We also want to use this time to invite new supporters and people who are interested in environmental conservation to see what OCCA is all about. We hope you will join us on the 9th,” Wyant said.

“Guests will be able to view the gardens as part of the event and the Mohican grounds and gardens should be lovely at that time in the evening,” said Shelby MacLeish, OCCA project coordinator. “As part of the ticket price of $25.00, guests will enjoy dinner, dessert and drinks. Red Shed Brewery is donating beer and we will have award winning ice tea from B Blossom Catering.” 

Along with the return of the organization’s annual gathering event comes reinstatement of the OCCA Conservationist of the Year award, which goes this year to Milford Central School teacher Kim Burkhart. The Conservationist of the Year award goes to individuals who have made an outstanding, positive impact on Otsego County’s natural resources, either through direct action or by educating citizens about conservation.
