Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask High Point). They never let the Lenape Valley Patriots get on the board and left with a 17-0 win on Tuesday. The Wildcats haven’t had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Grace Meyers made a big impact no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn’t given up more than two walks any time she’s pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter’s box, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, High Point let Joelle Lucatorto and Karli Matthews run wild. Lucatorto went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Matthews got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Lucatorto has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she’s played. Another player making a difference was Abby Macfie, who went 2-for-3 with three runs.
High Point pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Lenape Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has…
