Chris Allen Munsee, 71
Chris Allen Munsee, 71, of Hare Creek Road, Corry, Pa., died Thursday, Sep. 21, 2023, at his residence.
He was born May 19, 1952, in Union City, Pa., a son of the late Howard and Viola “Mickey” (Pfister) Munsee.
Chris was raised and educated in Corry and graduated from Corry Area High School in 1971. After high school, he worked for Munsee Excavating for many years as an equipment operator and was known for his bulldozing work. In 1996, Chris began working with his son at Cam Tire where he was a manager. He also worked at Munsee’s Market as a produce buyer. Chris was still working with his family until his passing.
He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. He enjoyed hunting but mostly loved being with his family and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Chris was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold “Harry” and Gary Munsee.
Chris is survived by his wife, Barbara (Durlin) Munsee, whom he married Oct. 9, 1971, in Corry, PA; two daughters, Brenda Whitalker and her husband Dan and Carrie Street; son, Curt Munsee and his wife Gretchen all of Corry, Pa.; three sisters, Zela Munsee of Corry, Pa., Susan Dininny of Canton, N.C. and Annette Harmon and her husband Alan of Wellsboro, Pa.; and two sisters-in-law, Sylvia Munsee and Lucinda Munsee, both of Corry, Pa.
He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Amanda (Hunter), Nick, Kaylee (Mason), Abigail, Matthew, Jonathan, Emily, Olivia, Alexa, Gavin, Claire, Adalyn and Annelise; five great-grandchildren, Liam, Kinley, Miles, Boone and Owen; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held privately by the family.

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) — Kayla McBride scored 28 points and Napheesa Collier added 26 points and 13 rebounds as the Minnesota Lynx beat the Connecticut Sun 82-75 on Sunday to force a deciding Game 3 of their first-round playoff series.
Alyssa Thomas scored 26 points and DeWanna Bonner added 24 for the No. 3 seeded Sun, who won the first game of the series by 30 points, but now must win a road game on Wednesday to advance.
“We love our fanbase and we do feel like that’s an advantage for us,” Collier said. ,
The Lynx led by six points at halftime and stretched that to 16 with the help of a 12-0 run in the third quarter, highlighted by the fifth of McBride’s six 3-pointers. Her layup made it 65-49.
But the Sun responded with a run of their own and trailed only by 65-60 headed into the fourth quarter.
A 3-pointer from Bonner cut the lead to 76-73 with 2 1/2 minutes to play, but the Lynx made several big defensive stops and scored the next six points to put the game away.
Connecticut, which shot 16 for 30 from behind the arc in the Game 1, hit just seven of it 20 attempts on Sunday, while the Lynx, led by McBride, were 9 of 24.
Both teams had injury scares in what was a physical game.
Bonner had 18 points before taking an elbow to the nose late in the third quarter with the Sun trailing by five points.
Collier also was injured earlier in that quarter and also spent a short time in the locker room after leaving the court holding her lower back.

Newton leads division
Newton took the lead in the American Blue division of the SFC after defeating Kittatinny, 28-7, there Friday, Sept. 22.
The Braves hold a 3-1 record overall and a 3-0 record in the division, compared with Lenape Valley, which has a 3-2 record overall but a 2-0 record in the division.
Kittatinny’s record is 1-3; its only victory was against Hackettstown in the season opener.
On Friday, senior DeMarius Posey and sophomore Matt Ellsworth scored in the first quarter for Newton, and Brenden Lynch and Dylan Cottermade touchdowns in the third and fourth quarters, respectively. Sophomore Nick Kurilko made all four points after touchdowns.
Senior Cole Davis put the only points on the board forthe Cougars.
Posey rushed for a total of 121 yards and he threw a 15-yard pass to Lynch for a touchdown. Cotter rushed for a total of 94 yards.
Ellsworth completed four of seven pass attempts for a total of 60 yards.
Vernon wins shutout
Vernon struck down Lenape Valley, 28-0, at home Sept. 22.
The victory pushed the Vikings’ record to 4-1. They are tied with Lakeland at the top of the American White division.
Vernon will play at Lakeland on Friday, Sept. 29.
After a scoreless first quarter, senior running back Franco Luna made two touchdowns in the second quarter and another in the third. The last one was on a 48-yard run.
Senior wide receiver Colin Dignan made three receptions resulting in one touchdown in the second quarter.
Junior quarterback Aden Karwoski completed all seven of his pass attempts for a total of 63 yards.
Senior running back Logan Pych carried the ball 14 times and gained 112 yards, and Luna rushed for a total of 62 yards.
