BASEBALL

Clearview 5, Lenape 0: Senior Julian Costa allowed one hit and two walks with nine strikeouts in five scoreless innings as No. 3 seed Clearview (16-6) defeated visiting No. 10 Lenape (14-11) in a NJSIAA South Group 4 semifinal playoff game June 9.

Senior Cole Fowler had two singles and scored twice, while junior Anthony Charles had a pair of RBIs for the Pioneers.

Senior Tyler Davis’ double was one of the two hits for the Indians.

Senior Tyler Korchak and sophomore Ethan Krauss each had two goals and an assist for the Renegades.

Gilda’s Club South Jersey hosts 5th Annual Dragon Boat Festival at Lake Lenape

[]The fifth Annual Gilda’s Club South Jersey Dragon Boat Festival is happening. This event will take place on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at Lake Lenape in Mays Landing.

[]A Dragon Boat consists of 20 paddlers plus a drummer to keep everyone paddling in time. Anyone can participate in the Dragon Boat races. There are various levels of teams; Clubs, Community and Corporate. In addition to the boat races, the day at the lake will include food trucks, a beer garden, corn hole, and various other vendors.

[]A donation is suggested for spectators to attend the festival. All are welcome. All proceeds go directly to the free support programs at Gilda’s Club for men, women, teens, and children impacted by all forms of cancer, at any stage of their cancer journey.

Girls Volleyball: Olympic Conference Player of the Year and more, 2020-21

Olympic Conference Season in Review, 2020-21

Player of the Year: This was Shawnee’s best season in its history. The Renegades finished it with a record of 12-1 and a sectional championship. A big reason behind that was the play of Mia Moscicki.

The junior could not be stopped and rolled to a career-high 143 kills. She capped her season with a 16-kill performance in the sectional final against Toms River South, giving her 30 kills in her final two games alone. Moscicki was also voted by the coaches as the conference Player of the Year. She averaged 5.3 kills per set.
