P L Notsonice dominates in featured trot at Pocono

Wilkes-Barre, PA – The classy mare P L Notsonice controlled the pace in Monday (May 8) afternoon’s $12,500 featured trot at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania, drawing clear late to stop the timer in 1:53.

Dagon Hanover was quickest away from the gate, with Marcus Miller (top driver on the day with three successes) keeping the victorious daughter of Kadabra close early, then moving to the lead just past the :28.1. A stretch tailwind helped her to reach the halfway point in :56, and she then went on to the three-quarters in 1:24.3 with only Dagon Hanover staying close. The pair stayed 1-2 to the wire, with P L Notsonice winning by a margin of 3-1/2 lengths while taking her earnings to $342,416; Steven Brabrook conditions the winner for Elite Harness Racing LLC.

The racing week closes out Tuesday (May 9) afternoon at Pocono at 1 p.m., with three $15,500 divisions of the top-level claiming handicap trotters set to go. Racing resumes then on Saturday (May 13) at 1 p.m., with Sunday’s (May 14) 6 p.m. card featuring the “glamour division,” the three-year-old pacing colts, in Pennsylvania All-Stars action.

“This is an S.O.S.” the Jonas Brothers are going on tour and making a stop in Connecticut.

Joe, Kevin and Nick Jonas announced the 35-date tour on social media Tuesday. Connecticut fans will be able to see the trio on Aug. 17 at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville. The tour was announced after the brothers planned to play two shows at Yankee Stadium on August 12 and 13. It will kick off at Yankee Stadium and make stops at major cities like Chicago, Las Vegas Los Angeles and Miami.

During the tour, the brothers will perform songs from five albums in one night: “Jonas Brothers,” “A Little Bit Longer,” “Lines, Vines, and Trying Times,” “Happiness Begins” and “The Album.” In March, the brothers also performed five shows at the Marquis Theatre in New York City, each focusing on a different album. 

The Jonas Brothers made their Connecticut debut opening for the Cheetah Girls at Chevrolet Theatre in Wallingford in 2005. This will be the trio’s 16th Connecticut performance.

The Jonas Brothers are going on a 35-date stadium and arena tour and they will be stopping in Connecticut.

The tour will be at Mohegan Sun Arena on Thursday, Aug. 17. Fans can register now through Saturday, May 6 at 11:59 p.m. for the Verified Fan presale here.

Citi and Verizon will have additional presales beginning on Wednesday, May 10 and a limited number of tickets will be available during the general on sale, which starts on Friday, May 12 at 10 a.m. at jonasbrothers.com.

Get ready to catch the ‘Lovebug’ again at Mohegan Sun Arena on Thursday, August 17 at 7:30 p.m.

UNCASVILLE, Conn. — This is an S.O.S.! The Jonas Brothers will be stopping at Mohegan Sun Arena following the announcement of “THE TOUR,” which is considered one of their most ambitious outings yet. 

Get ready to catch the ‘Lovebug’ again at Mohegan Sun Arena on Thursday, August 17 at 7:30 p.m. 

The band will be performing five albums every night with a 35-date stadium arena run.

Tickets will go on sale Friday, May 12 at 10:00 a.m. on Ticketmaster; prices will vary from $169.50, $149.50, $129.50, and $99.50. 

Tickets will also be available at the Mohegan Sun Box Office beginning Saturday, May 13 by availability so don’t wait until the ‘Year 3000’. 

Tickets are expected to be ‘Burnin Up,’ so the Verified Fan presale will be the best shot at securing tickets. Fans can register now through Saturday, May 6th at 11:59 p.m. for the Verified Fan presale here. Fans who are selected to receive an access code will be able to participate in the Verified Fan presale starting Tuesday, May 9.  

THE TOUR will also offer different VIP packages and experiences so don’t wait  ‘A Little Bit Longer’.

The Jonas Brothers will release their sixth studio album, “The Album,” on May 12, ahead of their tour.

WILKES-BARRE, PA – Kaddari, a Walner filly who started her career with victories in the last two prelims of the Bobby Weiss Series for three-year-old trotting fillies, added the $50,000 Weiss Championship to her rapidly-growing resume on Tuesday afternoon (May 2) at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania. The $375,000 yearling stopped the timer in 1:56 on a cool day with a strong stretch headwind.

Mattias Melander got away second with Kaddari, then moved nearing the :28 quarter and stepped around A Good Chardonnay, keeping Quite Fast parked in the two-wide lane through fractions of :57 and 1:26.1. Into the wind driver Melander asked his filly for more, and she responded to be 2½ lengths clear of Over Board, who circled five-wide in the stretch and passed many horses. But she didn’t get past Kaddari, who is trained by Mattias’s brother Marcus Melander and is owned by Courant Inc.

The $20,000 Weiss Consolation fell to the Muscle Hill filly I’m Amused in a lifetime best of 1:57. Simon Allard popped the pocket with the sophomore down the backstretch and opened a big lead that could not be threatened through the stretch. WILKES-BARRE, PA – Snowman Hanover (Bar Hopping) showed last Sunday he appreciated his reintroduction to harness racing trotting hopples with a victory in the Bobby Weiss Series final prelim for his sophomore male group, and in Sunday’s (April 30) $50,000 Weiss Championship he again was victorious, taking his field coast-to-coast in 1:58 over a sloppy track during a rainy night.

Mark MacDonald got the 9-1 gelding to the lead before the :28.3 quarter, then backed off the half to :59.4. Bestfriend Volo, the favorite who had won both of his Weiss prelims, moved out to go after the leader through both sides of the 1:29.1 three-quarters, but Snowman Hanover dug in gamely and held off the chalk by half a length. He paid $21.80 to win. The Ray Schnittker trainee is owned by the partnership of Schnittker Bordogna, Arden Homestead Stable, Steven Arnold, and Ted Gewertz, and he helped driver MacDonald to lead the local colony on the night with three successes.

SNOWMAN HANOVER REPLAY

A $15,000 pace for developing horses headlined the action on that gait, with Beach Vibes (American Ideal) never looking back as he came within a tick of his mark with a 1:52.4 off-track victory for driver Braxten Boyd.
