Global gaming supplier Light & Wonder has announced a systems agreement with Mohegan INSPIRE Entertainment Resort in Incheon, South Korea under which it will provide its portfolio of systems solutions to the property.

The agreement also includes the installation of a full complement of Light & Wonder’s slots and electronic table games, the company confirmed overnight.

“A partnership with Mohegan INSPIRE offers a tremendous opportunity for Light & Wonder in the Asian market,” said Siobhan Lane, Light & Wonder’s CEO of Gaming. “INSPIRE will be an incredible all-new, state-of-the-art destination and we look forward to its historic debut.

“We couldn’t be more proud to expand our existing relationship with Mohegan and continue to provide our robust portfolio to enable the highest level of efficiency for the resort, while also allowing guests to enjoy an unmatched player experience throughout the property.”

Mohegan COO Jody Madigan added, “Light & Wonder offers one of the most technologically advanced systems in the industry. Integrating Light & Wonder’s advanced solutions into the new property will be integral to the success of our operations and will allow us to obtain real-time insights to drive business­. Implementing these technologies will help us deliver significant value to our players.”

The Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority confirmed last week that it was on track to open the non-gaming elements of Mohegan INSPIRE in late 2023, with casino operations expected to launch in early 2024.

The US$1.6 billion development will comprise a foreigner-only casino, three hotel towers with a combined 1,200 rooms, a 15,000-seat arena and convention space plus dining, retail, a year-round indoor water dome experience and an outdoor family park.

The faster of the featured performers was the Tactical Landing colt Purple Lord, who bounced back from a break in his seasonal debut at Philly, circling up off cover and catching pacesetting favorite Bella Macchiato by a neck in 1:54.3. Purple Lord, second to Volume Eight in the Kindergarten Final last year, is owned by Harmony Oaks Racing Stable Inc., Berg Brothers Stable, and Rich Preziotti.

KANSAS, OK – Leaders from the Cherokee Nation and Kansas Cherokee Community Organization (KCCO) gathered recently to cut the ribbon on a new community building in Kansas, OK.

The building was constructed through the Cherokee Nation Respond, Recover and Rebuild COVID-19 plan with an investment of approximately $2 million that covered the building, parking lot and a nearby helipad to assist community first responders.

“For many Cherokees, their greatest source of connection to our tribe is through local Cherokee community organizations and this building is going to be so vital to the Kansas community,” said Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. “The Cherokee Nation is dedicated to supporting grassroots and the hard work of community groups like the Kansas Cherokee Community Organization. This building and the hard work of the organization and community members will help serve this area for many years to come.”

The new building is approximately 4,000 sq. ft. The project also included substantial infrastructure improvements to the property, which will support future building expansion and overall growth of the site. The new community building, located at 1328 E. Tulsa Ave., is adjacent to property owned by the Town of Kansas, which will be developed into a new local police headquarters.

The agreement includes provisions for the installation of all Light & Wonder slots and electronic table games at the resort.

The Mohegan Inspire, meanwhile, is slated to debut in the fourth quarter of 2023 and, when finished, will be an entertainment destination in Northeast Asia with three 5-star hotel towers with 1,275 rooms, a 15,000-seat multi-purpose arena, a casino for foreign players only, and indoor and outdoor attractions.

Furthermore, Light and Wonder recently reported Q1 2023 revenue of $670m, an increase of 17% above Q1 data from 2022.

EBITDA for Light and Wonder was $249m, up 23% from the previous year.

Tickets are interesting too, both General and VIP tickets will allow you to bring in sneakers into the event to try to sell or trade. The General Admission tickets goes for $30, and it allows you to bring up to 3 pairs of sneakers into the event to try to sell. VIP tickets are $40, and for the extra $10 you’ll be able to bring in as many sneakers that you can carry, through a special entry line. The promoters have also announced reduced ticket prices for high school students – $15 (With your school ID), and children under 10 with a parent will be admitted for free.

I’ve only kept one pair of sneakers longer than 5 years, so if you have much more patience and room than I do, you could walk out of Mohegan Sun with some money that didn’t come from a slot or table game.

NORWICH — Local police say the death of an unidentified man whose body was found partially buried in Mohegan Park over the weekend has been ruled a homicide. 

Police said the man was Black or Hispanic and between the ages of 35 and 50. His remains had been autopsied as of Monday evening, police said.

The body was discovered by a passerby walking through Mohegan Park Sunday afternoon. Just before 4:15 p.m. Sunday, the passerby “noticed something protruding from the ground,” a Norwich police spokesperson said. 

“Believing that it might be a person, he called the Norwich Police Department to report his findings,” Lt. Anthony Gomes said Monday. 

Gomes said responding patrol officers discovered the person’s body in a shallow grave. He had been fatally shot, Gomes said. Evidence located at the scene indicated the killing did not occur inside the park and represented a “targeted attack” on the victim, Gomes said.

The man stood approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighed 150 to 160 pounds and had black hair styled in box braids, according to Gomes. He was also missing his top four front teeth and had a goatee or short beard, Gomes said.

No description of the clothing he was wearing at the time of his death was available, according to Gomes.

The investigation is ongoing, Gomes said.

NORWICH ― An unidentified man whose body was found partially buried in a shallow grave at a Norwich park was the victim of a homicide, police said

Norwich police said a pedestrian at approximately 4:15 p.m. on Sunday noticed “something” protruding from the ground at Mohegan Park that he believed was a person. Patrol officers verified it was a deceased individual and an autopsy determined the cause of death as a gunshot wound.

Police on Monday afternoon said evidence suggests the victim, a Black or Hispanic man between the ages of 35-50, was not murdered at the park. The incident appears to be the result of a targeted attack on the victim, police said.

The victim is described as being approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing between 150-160 pounds with black hair/box braids and a goatee or short beard. The deceased was missing his top four front teeth, police said.

More: At 15, he brutally killed a Norwich teacher and her son. Reform gave him a parole hearing.

There was no clothing description and the man’s identity is still unknown.
