Nanticoke, MD – Motor Vehicle Crash with Injuries Involving a Dirt Bike at Nanticoke Rd & Jesterville Rd

Nanticoke, MD (May 12, 2025) – A motor vehicle crash with injuries occurred Sunday, May 10, 2025, at the intersection of Nanticoke Rd and Jesterville Rd in Nanticoke, Maryland. Maryland State Police (Salisbury Barrack E) were dispatched to the scene after reports of a collision involving a vehicle and a dirt bike.

The crash involved a 13-year-old male who was injured in the incident. Emergency responders initially considered the need for aviation assistance due to the severity of the injuries, but it was later determined that Trooper 4 would not be required. The victim was transported for further medical care, though the extent of the injuries remains unclear.

At 4:56 PM, updates confirmed the age of the victim, and by 5:00 PM, responders determined that the aviation team would not be needed for transport. The situation is still under investigation, and authorities are working to determine the exact cause of the crash.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area while emergency responders manage the scene. Significant traffic delays are expected as the investigation continues.

Our thoughts are with the injured 13-year-old, and we hope for a full and swift recovery.

Dirt Bike Accidents in Nanticoke

Dirt bike accidents can often result in serious injuries, particularly for younger riders. The high-risk nature of dirt biking, combined with the unpredictable nature of collisions with vehicles, makes these incidents particularly dangerous. This crash highlights the importance of safety measures, including the use of protective gear and riding in designated areas.

As authorities continue their investigation, local law enforcement reminds all riders and drivers to exercise caution, follow traffic laws, and be vigilant in areas where both vehicles and off-road vehicles may be sharing the road.

If you or someone you know has been involved in a dirt bike crash or motor vehicle accident…

Students to receive scholarship

WINTERSVILLE — The 31 members and one guest attending the April 17 meeting of the GFWC Wintersville Woman’s Club, were welcomed by President Cheryl Taylor.

Taylor began the meeting by thanking the fundraising committee for serving as the afternoon’s hostesses.

She encouraged members to contribute to the breast cancer basket and the Mohican Memorial Forest and Shrine jar.

Recording Secretary Mary Beth Allan introduced her guest, Maureen Giandomenico, daughter-in-law of member Sylvia Giandomenico.

Judy Weaver presented meditation and grace prior to the group’s monthly luncheon.

The Pledge of Allegiance and club collect were led by Vice President Karen Josefczyk. Attendance was taken by Allan, who posed the question, “What was your favorite dessert that your mother made?” Everyone went around the room and responded with memories of the dessert they liked the best from their mom.

Minutes from the March meeting were approved. Treasurer Karen Hill provided the treasurer’s report, and informed members the balance of the club stood at $13,975. The report will be filed for audit.

Hill reminded members about their $35 club dues, which should be submitted by May 31.

Corresponding Secretary Michalene King reported five cards were sent to members celebrating an April birthday.

Membership Chairman Pat Ketzell encouraged those gathered to bring a guest to the club’s next meeting, scheduled for noon on Thursday at St. Florian Hall. She stated member initiation will be held this month.

Scholarship Chairman Claudia Dorich reported she received five applications from high school seniors interested in receiving a scholarship from the club. The committee stated they would choose the finalists, who will be recognized during Thursday’s meeting.

The meeting will focus on membership and leadership, with the guest speaker being Marti Leake, coordinator of RSVP — one of…

New Jersey Youth Chorus presents Sing into Spring on May 18th

?>

originally published: 05/13/2025

(BASKING RIDGE, NJ) — The New Jersey Youth Chorus (NJYC), a program of Wharton Arts, presents Sing into Spring on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at Ridge Performing Arts Center (68 South Finley Avenue) in Basking Ridge. Showtime is 4:00pm. The annual spring concert featuring all five NJYC choirs offers a vibrant, moving, and culturally rich program that reflects both the diversity of music and the depth of the choristers’ growth throughout the season.

Said NJYC Founder and Director Trish Joyce, “Audiences will hear music from across centuries and continents, from traditional spirituals and folk songs to contemporary works by living composers. Highlights include Kuwa Furaha by Jim Papoulis, inspired by his work with children in Africa, where joy is expressed through rhythmic clapping and reaching to the sky. The Beat of a Different Drum by Sarah Quartel invites singers and audiences alike to celebrate individuality and embrace what makes them unique, while Family Tree by Stephen Hatfield poetically links generations through lullaby and memory. The concert also features spirited folk tunes such as the whimsical Scottish tale of Aiken Drum, the American railroad ballad Nine Hundred Miles, and the hopeful Georgia Sea Islands spiritual, Yonder Come Day. A barbershop-style rendition of I’m Gonna Live Till I Die adds upbeat energy, while beautiful lyrical selections like By Night by Elaine Hagenberg and Stars Tonight by Judith Herrington provide moments of beauty and reflection.”

The Sing into Spring concert will showcase the world premiere of Long Ago Back East, a new work by Dr. William Linthicum-Blackhorse. Commissioned by Wharton Arts with the generous support of the American Composers’ Forum and Chorus America’s 2024 Dale Warland Singers Commission Grant, the piece is scored for treble voices, flute, strings, and piano. The choral piece honors the legacy of Nora Thompson Dean, one of the last native…

Who Is Kevin Garnett’s Lesser-Known Girlfriend Teare Candelier?

When social media stars cross into celebrity circles, headlines ignite instantly. When these big internet names are associated with world-famous athletes, the excitement escalates. Teare Candelier is making the headlines recently, but have you ever wondered who she is? Bronx‑born Teare Candelier, 28, built her brand from street‑style shoots to viral TikTok trends. Her fearless fashion, candid persona, and raw content resonate with Gen Z’s demand for authenticity.

Candelier’s origin story is one of hustle and cultural connection. Born on May 22, 1977, and raised in  New York’s Bronx borough, she began modeling before completing high school. She worked with local fashion artists to enter a saturated market. Her TikTok breakout in 2022, with a viral fashion clip, pivoted her into full‑time influencing. With over 248,000 followers on Instagram, a presence on X, YouTube, and Pinterest, and a growing OnlyFans subscriber base, Teare’s reach extends far beyond the five boroughs. Her following has had a major boost ever since she has been linked with Kevin Garnett.

However, her name made the news in late April 2025 for triggers unrelated to fashion shoots or brand deals. TMZ reported an early‑morning altercation at Garnett’s Los Angeles home. Police and social media sources say Teare had phoned police amid a heated early morning argument. Especially after she publicly apologized and a joint statement with Garnett was published, the news went viral. First reported by TMZ and spread over X, the event was a turning point in her life, driving her more into the public eye.
